Like any great love story, your relationship with money needs care, attention, and the occasional check-in. Here's how to nurture a healthy money mindset and keep the love alive.
As always, love this, Stef! My relationship with money definitely shifted after I wrote my first letter to money, but I think I'm guilty of putting the relationship on auto-pilot to a greater degree than I should. Thank you for the reminder to put in the effort to bring back the romance.
I fall into auto-pilot mode, too. And sometimes downright resistance, as I did yesterday. I had a Money Date on my calendar, and because I was having a rough day, I put it off. But finally did it later in the day. I'm glad I did. Romance renewed.
What's a simple step you can make to renew the romance with money?
In the last week, I allowed it to buy some things for me that felt like luxuries—I got my first pair of tap shoes since I was four years old on Saturday and I have a dance surface arriving today and I’ve bought books. Maybe allowing it to take care of me in these small ways and invest in my joy is a nice first step. Trusting it’s okay to buy small luxuries because the money will refresh itself.
Ooh, looks like a great book, Stef! I look forward to your thoughts on it. I recently picked up Braiding Sweetgrass, which I know you’ll be happy about. Now I just need to figure out when I’m going to read it 🤣

Oh, I love that, Kristine! Tap shoes sound fun, and you know I love books! I'm going to buy this recently published one https://annekinsey.com/books/
